Farmers Drive Local Farm to School Work — and We’re Their Ally
Hear from farmer Anna on why they choose to support Iowa Valley RC&D's work.
Iowa Valley RC&D is bringing it all together through Farm to School. Through this programming, the work of farmers, schools, and community partners unites to nourish both children and communities, growing resilience across Iowa.
On Wednesday, October 15, join us at the Webster in Iowa City for Plated with Purpose—an evening that celebrates Farm to School in Iowa through a four-course dinner with wine pairings. Nearly ten local farms will be featured.
Farmers Anna and Shae from Over the Moon (Coggon, IA) shared why they’re supporting this event:
This is the heart of farm to school: ensuring that local food nourishes not only our tables, but also the classrooms and cafeterias where the next generation grows.
Farms featured throughout the evening include: Grimm Family Farm (Williamsburg), Trowel and Error (Iowa City), Lucky Star Farm (Iowa City), Friendly Farm (Iowa City), Buffalo Ridge Orchard (Central City), Over the Moon (Coggon), and Camp Creek Organics (Kalona).
